Buggerru
A former mining town by the sea, nicknamed the little Paris.
About the place
The nickname comes from the French managers of the company that ran the mines. On 4 September 1904 the army fired on striking miners here and killed three: the episode is remembered as Italy's first general strike.
Today Buggerru has a beach with a sandy bottom and a small harbour.
